Métaphysique des tubes

by Amelie Nothomb

An absolute pleasure to read. Really resonates with me in certain moments. Love the idea of identity through pleasure, and how strange it is to experience reality in the first place. Amelie is also very assertive with her ideas, which gives them the space they need to have an impact on the reader.

The will to change

9/10

Bell Hooks

Bell indeed hooks and the message she shares on this book is very important. This book has made me reflect on all sorts of things ranging from my personal relationships and growth all the way to the architecture of our system. Bell Hooks loves men; and through this love her message becomes much easier to hear. I've taken her message to heart.

Friedrich Dürrenmatt

Super funny. I don't usually say this but I think people take this book a little more seriously than it is meant to be. Sure it has a sort of political premise especially in act 2 but I think it's just a vehicle for the amazing dialogue and the unexpected revelations. Would love to see the actual play.

Stefan Zweig

A really fun read, I love especially how the situation with Dr B. is described. This one's also a personal victory for me since it's the first book I read fully in German.

Ernest Hemingway

I heard that this book is a tragedy but it didn't seem so to me. I think it's about living on through others and the nature of our surrender to time.

Fun read. I already knew all about it and it still pissed me off. I can think of the real-life counterparts to all of these animals.

James Gleick

Mind-blowing book. Made me reconsider the way in which I think about physics and scale. I read this because Robert Sapolsky recommended it; and I can't wait to stop thinking in buckets. (Or be more aware of them) I still got a date with "Behave"

Loved reading about Kurt Gödel's life and the surrounding discourse that led to his breakthrough.
